Download the WordPress Video Capture Plugin for Free at www.wordpress.org/plugins/video-capture

Vidrack produces different video file types depending on the device used to record. If you’re having trouble playing any recorded files please download this free video player that supports all videos created by Vidrack. Free Video Player

If you experience desktop video recording issues it may be due to slow upload speeds on your internet connection. Test your connection at this page: www.speedtest.net – Upload speeds under 1mb/s can lower video quality.

Sign up to get our WordPress Video Capture Plugin via email. It’s easy to install. Simply install it like you would any other

WordPress plugin. If you would like a quick demonstration please see our “How-to” video.

Once you install the product you simply place the shortcode, anywhere on a page, post or side bar in

your website admin panel and that will make a “Record Video” button appear.

Short Code

The short code can be used to align your product 3 different ways:

WordPress Video Capture Shortcodes

Capturing Videos

All your website visitors have to do is click on the button and a tool will open up activating their web

camera, or in the case of mobile activating their mobile camera! You can add a call to action before or

after your shortcode for whatever purpose your heart desires. Once the user clicks on the record

button, and gives permission* to the software to access their web camera the next steps are self-
explanatory.

*Note: Your users must give permission for the software to access their camera. And additionally for certain browsers (Google Chrome, etc.)

your users may have to click on a button (on the top of the internet browser) allowing access to the camera. This is an extra layer of protection

offered by the internet that vidrack does not have any control over.

Downloading Videos

Downloading videos is quick and easy. Simply login into your admin area of your WordPress site (ex

wordpress-website.com/wp-admin/). Click on the link, in the left hand menu, called “video capture”.

This will open up a new page. On this page you see a list of all the videos that have been submitted to

you. Depending on your browser you can either click on the link to download the video or right click on

the link to download it. Once you have downloaded the video you can delete the video, off the server,

by clicking the box next to the link and clicking the delete button on the bottom.

Email Notification

Each time a video is submitted you will be notified via an email!

Download limits

We have soft limits on all our plans in order to ensure you never lose videos. You’ll always be able to go over your plan limits without losing videos.

Video Formats

.flv This is the Real Player file format.

Mac users need to download a .flv player to play downloaded videos. Download a free player here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc

All videos submitted using desktops and laptops will be in this version.

Mac users will need to download a free flv player to play this version.

.MOV This is mobile video version. iPhones submit videos in this format.

.GP3 This is a mobile video version. Android phones submit videos in this format.

A free .GP3 player will need to be downloaded to play this format.

Video Quality

Video quality will depend on the camera type, and internet connection, of your users.

We’ve done our very best to ensure our Video Capture Plugin works as smoothly as possible. However only you, our valued users, can tell us if there is anything we missed. If you encounter an error please send us an explanation of the error, and a screen shot (if possible), to info@vidrack.com. Our team will then take every effort to fix this problem ASAP!

Yes in the plugins files you can change the button by replacing the image file in the plugin folder “images” Just remember to keep the button file name the same.

Is there any way to force one video format, eg: mp4, for all devices? I am going to create a HTML5 player page on my site, but it cannot play the MOV or GP3.

    • Ryan Parent says:

For you you would need to convert the videos on your local computer. We will build video encoding later.

In every browser I get the error “your browser does now support flash” and the widget does not appear. I don’t have a Flash problem. Any ideas? And can you provide traditional embed code instead of only shortcode?

Hello – just wondering on the privacy of the videos: When a person records a video, is it stored on your servers? Can anyone view these videos other than the admin of the WP dashboard that downloads it? Thanks!

  6. Mike says:

Also, another question sorry I forgot: For the Pro Version, can the videos be uploaded to YouTube as private videos? Just wondering about privacy of the videos as you can tell. Great plugin! Thanks!

Hi! On Vidrack’s private YouTube channel? Where on YouTube?

I’d like to offer my users a way to upload videos to their own YouTube channels via my site using Vidrack then immediately pull the embed code into the site.

        • Ryan Parent says:

You can connect the pro version to your own youtube channel and the videos will appear as private until you decide to make them public.

    • Ryan Parent says:

Yes in the settings there is a desktop upload feature you can use to upload pre recorded videos. On mobile you can access your saved videos and upload a pre-recorded video.

Hi Vidrack, just got the pro version!

Questions, what does the “JavaScript Callback” done, when does it fire?

    What are we doing?
We are trying to capture the the vidrack custom post type ID once a video record and submitted, that it can be submitted the ID with another form, and in turn we can have our own custom post type which just references the vidrack video!

    Thanks for the help

    • Ryan Parent says:

You would need a developer to use this feature. You can connect it to other applications and have the videos pulled automatically into different tools like Zappier.

Hi, I have purchased pro version but don’t see option where user can provide their name and email..How can we add this option along with recording..Thanks!

    Hi,

Great plugin. When will the html5 plugin be ready (i.e. no more dependence on flash)? Unreliable flash/ browser updates (e.g. like recently with Chrome) makes this great plugin (when used from desktops) unusable. Otherwise, do you propose an alternative when flash is not supported?

    Thanks.

    Thomas

    Hi Ryan,

I have installed the plugin in my wordpress site and it works fine through browser. However when accessing via mobile device (iOS or Android) after recording the video, the progress bar shows and completes (100%) but then the following error comes up:

Error uploading video (AJAC): Access Denied

    Any help?

    Regards
    Muhammad

    • Ryan Parent says:

Hey you cannot limit the capture time unfortunately. Its a complicated matter with the different browser standards and mobile vs. desktop computer browsers.
